Valerie’s Insights

My tip is to always build and leverage the relationship. If you look at a client like they are just a sale, then it is more likely that the person won’t trust you. Think about them and their needs before your own. Sales is service, so it is important to serve them to the highest level by thinking about how you can do that. It can be through a combination of products and services- or none at all if you’re not aligned and not the right fit to work together. Then, it is critical to say so (politely, of course!) and let them know.

If you don’t think of the person and put their needs before your own, then it becomes impossible to sell with integrity. Integrity is one of the most important facets to me in business because it directly reflects your credibility. Without these things, you may not receive referrals, positive feedback, or testimonials/ reviews.

When you build and leverage the client relationship, sales and business will grow. Clients will trust you and refer others, and provide glowing reviews when you focus on delivering outstanding service, not how many sales or how much money you can make from an individual.
