In this episode…

The Social Sales Link team talked about “Nurturing Your Existing LinkedIn Connections.”

Things you will learn in this episode:

* As salespeople, we are always trying to add people into our pipeline by prospecting new people all the time. But we often ignore the people already in our network. Consider taking inventory of your LinkedIn connections by exporting the list into an excel spreadsheet, or searching your 1st-degree connections to identify who you are already connected to, and whom you’d like to engage. We call this conducting CPR to our network – simply identifying Clients, Prospects, and Referral Partners to start a conversation!

* Don’t “connect and forget” with your LinkedIn 1st-degree connections. They may have been promoted within their companies or even found a job with a new company. Keep in touch with your 1st-degrees… you never know who they may know nowadays!

* Just because you’re connected with someone on LinkedIn, doesn’t mean you’ve earned the right to have a conversation with them. If you have connected with someone, you don’t know well enough to talk with them, see what connections you might have in common, and ask those that you do know well to make an introduction, or get permission to name-drop. This way you’re not only nurturing one connection, but two!
