In this episode…

In this episode, the Social Sales Link Team talks about responding to some of the top activities in your LinkedIn notifications such as your connections’ career changes, engaging with post updates, profile viewers’ birthdays and anniversaries.

According to Bill, when responding to career change notifications, whether it’s a career change or a promotion, remember that you’re opening two doors of opportunity. The opportunity to start a conversation about your first-degree connection through a video call is the first one.  While the opportunity to congratulate the person who took over the role through a connection request with a personalized message is the second.

As for Brynne, she said that there are lots of opportunities around content that creates notifications. These notifications are invitations to engage. As a social seller, it is now your obligation to check these notifications every day and engage back. Look at what they are saying and decide if this is something you want to begin a conversation with.

In addition, for Bob, responding to “Who’s viewed your profile?” gives you a legitimate reason to reach out to the other person. Whether they are a first or second-degree connection, it is always good for you to find out why they viewed your profile. For your first-degree connections, you have an opportunity to engage back through a video message.  While a simple message will work on those second-degree connections. “Who’s viewed your profile?” is a great way to reach out to those people who have shown interest in you, so it’s good to find out why.

Finally, for Sally Jo, greeting someone on their birthdays and work anniversaries is another good way to get on their radar. It may not sound like it has anything to do with business, but that’s okay, reach out to them and hopefully begin a conversation.
