Things you will learn in this episode:

* Your network on LinkedIn is worth protecting. When you connect with someone, you open your network — and their information — up to all of those other first-degree connections. Make sure that the person who you ultimately accept that connection request from is someone whom you do want to be connected with. — Bob Woods

* There are three types of connectors on LinkedIn, the LION (LinkedIn Open Networker) who connects with everyone. In our view, it’s someone showing up at a networking meeting with only the intent of collecting business cards (not an effective approach). The second is the purist, they only talk to their existing friends at the meeting and never meet anyone new (also not productive). Last is the networker. They are open to talking with everyone in the room but they are selective with whom they follow up. It is the networker that has the most success on LinkedIn!  — Brynne Tillman
