Keenan’s Insights
There isn’t just one “tip” for social sales. Too many people think social selling is a tactic. It’s not. It’s a strategy and like most strategies, it’s nuanced. The most important elements to being a badass social seller are authenticity, education, and entertainment, wrapped up in frequency.
What do I mean? First and foremost, you must show up on social as your authentic self. Don’t have a “business” face and a “personal” face. Just be you. Comment, post, engage and interact as YOU! Not some made-up personality. Next, educate. Create content that educates. Education is a giving action, so the more you give, the better off you’ll be. People are takers, so “giving” will draw people to you. Pick topics that will help people get better in the areas you’re an expert AND help people learn things they didn’t already know. Third, is to be entertaining. Be light, funny, intriguing, tell good stories etc. Remember social sales is about people and engagement, not selling. Finally, be active. Frequency matters. Create content regularly, engage your audience every day. Social sales is a long game, not a quick fix. Don’t try to sell, try to help. They will then ask you to sell them.
